Faile
artist profile
Faile are an international collective based in Brooklyn. Formed as A-Life in 1999 by Patrick McNeil, Patrick Miller and Aiko Nakagawa, they're widely recognised as pioneers of global contemporary street art.
Initially eliminating the problem of painting walls whilst keeping one eye out for the authorities by fly posting their work, Faile’s motives and energies changed, becoming less about quantity and more about quality and feeling.
By 2003 wheat pasting gave way to paint and stenciling allowing Faile greater freedom and their classic core stencil images were incorporated into one another.
Faile's distinctive work now graces city streets and galleries across the world.
