Famous When Dead, aka Andy Turner, was born in 1980 and raised in the industrial pottery town of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

Adopting the alias of Famous When Dead in 2005, his work is a creative response to his industrial surroundings. Inspired by his children and an urge to progress beyond the everyday mundane, his work is vibrant, fresh, often touches on the surreal and always demands a second look.

Self-taught as an artist, Famous When Dead’s background as a student was in graphic design and illustration. He still resides in Staffordshire and works from his home studio that he shares with his wife and three young children. There's plenty to come from Famous When Dead this year.... watch this space....
