Collections and collage form a big part of Chris Arran's work. The task of searching out, photographing and collecting is an important part of his creative process. He works extensively in sketchbooks, playfully combining diverse forms of media, imagery, objects and ephemera. His larger paint and collage works are distillations of this process. He has a wide range of influences and interests from 1970s fashion, contemporary urban photography, Graphic design & Typography, to Pop Art and analog technology. He lives and works in the quirky historic town of Lewes, East Sussex and illustrates for a wide range of international clients such as Penguin Books, The Washington Post, Elle, UN, La Liberation, The Guardian & Glamour Magazine. |
